Visiting Hong Kong with the family? What to see and do in the Big Bauhina with kids!

Family Friendly Hong Kong Accidental Tai TaiAs a parenting blogger, writer and editor who has produced a fair few words (!) over the years on family activities in Hong Kong for various publications, I’d like to think that I know a thing or two about planning an itinerary for little visitors to the Fragrant Harbour. So when the friendly folk at Air France recently got in touch to ask if I’d like to share a few of my favourite kid-friendly activities in Hong Kong with their family travellers, it was a very easy decision.

“No problem!” I replied, but as I tried to compile a final hitlist, I was struck by just how difficult it was to narrow my selection down to just a few favourites from the countless kiddie delights that Hong Kong delivers. So after much agonising, scribbling out and innumerable cups of tea (helps the creative process, you know), I finally got down to just nine choices that sum up the very best that our amazing city offers visiting families.

Whether you’re after local wildlife (and I’m NOT talking about the legendary Rugby Sevens!), luscious nature, Hong Kong hustle or a combination of all three, I really hope that this interactive map will offer some food for thought for your trip.

(Speaking of food, don’t leave without sampling some of the local delicacies. From Michelin-starred dim sum to street stall noodles, iced lemon tea to egg tarts… Hong Kong’s unique dining scene is a whole other map in the making!)

Just click on the map image below to start your virtual tour of my family’s adopted home and I’d love to hear your feedback in the comments below!
